President Bush Nominates Roberts to the Supreme Court
John Roberts, who currently sits on the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, has been nominated by President George W. Bush to fill the vacancy at the Supreme Court created by the recent resignation of Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. In announcing the nomination, President Bush said that Roberts "has devoted his entire professional life to the cause of justice and is widely admired for his intellect, his sound judgment, and personal decency."
