All centers have faced the problem of parents forcing their pregnant teen daughter to have an abortion against her will.· Many times, individuals working at a center are unsure about how to approach this problem and how to advise the pregnant teen mother.· The Justice Foundation has developed a method for centers to protect and advise every pregnant teen mother facing this situation. We are excited to announce that The Justice Foundation has received a grant to establish the Center Against Forced Abortions ("CAFA").· We are excited to be working with The Justice Foundation to provide additional resources for your pregnancy center that will help overcome this problem.·
The Justice Foundation will train you on how to use the tools available through the Center·Against Forced Abortions·in a webinar format. During the training, you will be able to obtain answers to any questions you may have regarding·two of the center's central·documents, and will have access a third central document:
The "Dear Parent Letter" has already proven effective in saving multiple babies' lives in its initial implementation, and will be covered during the webinar..·The Dear Parent Letter officially informs the teen's parents that they do not have the legal right to force their daughter to have an abortion, and in fact, they may be criminally or civilly liable for crimes or torts if they do force their daughter to have an abortion.·
The client letter is a document informing your client of her rights as an expectant mother.·This letter·offers a clear outline of her rights,·the rights of the father, and the rights of her parents when it comes to having an abortion. This document will be covered during the presentation.
The "Abortionist Letter"
An additional tool available to you is the "Abortionist Letter,"·developed by Mark Crutcher of Life Dynamics. The letter is to be used in conjunction with the Dear Parent Letter.· The Abortionist Letter is sent to all abortion clinics in the area to advise each abortion facility the girl does not want an abortion.·
More detailed instructions regarding each of these useful tools will be provided during the training.·Heartbeat International is pleased to announce that Allan Parker, Clayton Trotter, and Kathleen Cassidy Goodman from The Justice Foundation's Center Against Forced Abortion will be with us during this training.·The training will be available live on November 11, 2010,· at 1 PM EST, and will be available as a recording beginning November 12. · |
