ConCERT is an advanced distance learning course created by Heartbeat International. ConCERT is appropriate for any individual currently involved in a pregnancy help ministry who wants to gain confidence and take their current skills and knowledge to an even higher level. The next session of ConCERT will cover consulting considerations, fertility, conception, fetal development, sexual integrity, contraception, sexually transmitted diseases, abortion risks, and much more. By the end of this training, you will earn enough CEU's to apply for or renew your Life Affirming Specialist Designation.
To participate, you must meet the following requirements:
- Have completed Heartbeat International's LOVE Approach training, either online or at your center.
- Have reliable access to a computer with an internet connection.
- Be able to devote three to five hours per week to the training.
- Be self-motivated and comfortable participating in online discussions, completing reading assignments, and weekly activities on your own.
Please note, participants of this training will be able to communicate with the instructors via e-mail and phone. A downloadable student manual is also provided to help students prepare for assessments.

Your instructors for the next ConCERT session are Ducia Hamm, LAS and Dawn Lunsford, MA, LAS.
Ducia Hamm currently serves as the Associate Director of Affiliate Services for Heartbeat International.A long-time board member for community organizations and a community mental health specialist in Ashland, Ohio, Hamm led the Ashland Care Center starting in 2007, overseeing significant growth at the center while building a statewide coalition of pregnancy help leaders during her tenure. In nine years at Ashland Care Center, Hamm and her team quadrupled the amount of services, including client education, the center offered, and went from 400 client visits in 2006 to over 2,000 visits in 2014.Hamm was also a founding board member and served a term as president for the Ohio Pregnancy Resource Alliance, a statewide effort to unite leaders from the 138 pregnancy help locations in the Buckeye State. During her tenure, Ohio legislators approved funding a pilot program for pregnancy centers to pay for parenting classes and material assistance that has now become an amendment to the state budget called the Pregnancy Parenting and Support Program.
Dawn Lunsford currently serves as Associate Director of Academy for Heartbeat International, and has been a staff member with Heartbeat since 2010. She spends her time creating interactive training courses and developing curriculum of various topics for pregnancy help volunteers, staff members, and leaders. After graduating with her Masters degree from The Ohio State University, Dawn is proud to be using online learning to put her pro-life values into action by providing greater access to knowledge using exciting and innovative new formats.
