Human Sexual Wellness

Have you ever wondered what science says about human sexuality? It turns out, biology, chemistry, health sciences, and more support God's plan for our sexuality in humans.

Designed specifically for centers working with a high number of clients in the 18-24 age group, this course will walk through how to work with clients who have been indoctrinated through gender ideology to believe that it is natural for them to be promiscuous. Nothing could be further from the truth and this course is designed to equip your staff with the scientific-based knowledge that will allow them to teach these women the truth that for humans, sexual wellness equals sexual integrity.

Your registration for this class includes a complimentary electronic edition of Dr. Malone's book: Battles of the Sexes. Additionally, by the end of this training, you will earn enough CEU's to apply for or renew your Life Affirming Specialist Designation.

To participate, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Have reliable access to a computer with an internet connection and the ability to download and print documents for additional reading.
  • Be able to devote three to four hours per week to the live course session and homework assignments.

Additionally, by the end of this training, you will earn enough CEU's to apply for or renew your Life Affirming Specialist Designation.

Learning Together . . . without the Travel!

by Jennifer Minor, Editor/WriterConCERTLogoNEW1.163833

Somewhere between Pregnancy Help Institute and the Heartbeat International Annual Conference every year, there's a training gap. Individuals continue to take courses online at Heartbeat Academy, but that communal learning experience is missing.

That's why Heartbeat International developed ConCERT.

ConCERT is an advanced distance learning course to equip volunteer consultants with the information, skills, and perspectives that take them to the next level for providing effective consultation to individuals making choices in regard to sexual integrity, pregnancy, and parenting.
Deb Neybert, MA, LAS says, "As a trainer, I enjoy getting to know the students, and reading their comments posted on our online forum. Often they have great insights to share with each other, and it enhances the learning experience."

Since The LOVE Approach training is a pre-requisite to ConCERT, students interact with peers that have had similar experiences. According to Neybert, "Students say the most exciting part of ConCERT is the practical application as they have the opportunity to respond to verbatim assignments and the on-line forum communication."

Besides all of these benefits, by the end of ConCERT, students earn 14 CEU's toward the Life Affirming Specialist Designation. That's enough to apply for or renew your LAS!

Tweet this! The next session of ConCERT begins on January 11, 2015, and registration is open now.

#Giving Tuesday: An Online Opportunity

By Kirk Walden, Advancement SpecialistGivingTuesday

We all know Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. And yes, how can we forget Cyber Monday, when all of the online retailers rally for our attention?

The newest of them all is Giving Tuesday (represented online as #GivingTuesday), begun in 2012 and now catching on across America and in many nations around the world.

Launched by groups from Google to the United Nations, #GivingTuesday is a day to remember charitable giving—and we don’t need to miss out. Here are several ideas to place your ministry at the forefront:

Make sure your online site is ready

Update your giving site to remind readers of #GivingTuesday. The actual date is December 2; this should be prominent as this day approaches.

Set a Goal

If your center has not emphasized #Giving Tuesday in its first two years, a modest goal would be sufficient. In the goal, show exactly where funds would be directed and connect the goal to client outcomes. This is not the time to ask for a computer or materials: “On Giving Tuesday, help us raise $2500. Every dollar given online on Giving Tuesday goes directly toward our Operation Ultrasound Initiative, paying for 25 ultrasounds that will bond women and men with their children, saving lives and changing the lives of moms and dads.”

Remind, remind, remind

In the weeks leading up to #GivingTuesday, remind your constituency through E-Blasts, Twitter, Facebook and other social media. Make sure it is announced wherever you can.

One Takeaway . . .

#GivingTuesday does not replace your Year End Appeal. There is room for both in your development plan.

What PHCs should know about Google

by Brad Mandel, Ad America Internet Marketing & Yellow Page Services

At your next staff meeting, write down all of your services, then write down the number of ways you might search for that service on Google. The final step is to search for the service you provide in your serving area…how many times do show up in the towns you serve?

According to Google, 97% of all consumers are searching for a local business online.

Did you know...?

When an abortion-minded woman does a Google search on her cell phone, Google delivers the “map results” of exactly where she is standing? If your center’s online information is well-optimized, your location will pop up.

Potential clients want to find you. How can they if you don’t have a “places” listing on Google?

First, head to the homepage of Google Places and sign in with your Google account. Go to Google Places, type in your phone number, and edit the information to claim your business listing. Your company information might already be within Google’s directory. It could also be out of date and have an old address or phone number where you can revise or clean it up.

Submit: When you are done, scroll to the bottom of the page and hit submit.

Validate: You will be given an option to have Google call you or mail you a post card to verify your information. Verifying by phone is faster and easier!

Finish: Once you have verified the PIN, hit finish. Your site will now be posted on Google.

  • Make sure that your address populates on the map.
  • Make sure your category is correct.
  • Check to see if your name is listed the same way on other sites.

Congratulations on taking this first step in increasing your visibility online through Google! I say the first step because this is an ongoing process that you are going to need to work on as time continues. Google searches the most up-to-date and relevant content. It is up to you to show Google that you are the best business in your industry.

Having additional places where you show up on the internet helps Google confirm that you are an important business for your industry.
